about the firm

Brian learned from his family tradition that the practice of law is a sacred trust. Lawyers that follow a tradition that spans the generations understand that clients expect their lawyers to provide them not only with quality legal advice, but with unvarnished counsel that sometimes transcends legal issues and often encompasses matters that include complicated family, business, charitable and community issues.

a family tradition of quality legal representation

The Duffey Law Firm continues a family tradition of providing quality legal representation which dates back to the early 1900s in Boston, Massachusetts where Brian K. Duffey’s grandfather John Duffey first practiced law. The family tradition was continued by Brian’s father, Paul K. Duffey.  Paul started his legal career in the early 1940s in Quincy, Massachusetts, and later, in the early 1970s, relocated his family and established his legal practice in Boca Raton, Florida. In the mid-70s Paul’s integrity and demonstrated respect for the law was honored when the Boca Raton City Council appointed him Municipal Judge. Claudia Holland Duffey, joined her father in practice, and later, Brian joined Claudia in practice continuing a tradition of three consecutive generations of attorneys. In 2003, Brian had the opportunity to join the law firm of Hodgson Russ LLP.  Hodgson is not only one of the top 100 largest law firms in the United States, it is a full-service law firm that dates back to the early 1800s, counting two former U. S. Presidents among its partners.  Brian advanced quickly at Hodgson, being promoted from Associate to Senior Counsel to Partner in just three years.  While at Hodgson, Brian had the opportunity to work with many well regarded lawyers, including many with regional and even national reputations for excellence in their chosen areas of legal practice.  Here, Brian had the opportunity to hone his legal skills and develop a broad base of experience in the area of estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate, litigation and matters related to various corporate entities, including closely held corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.

In 2009, Brian decided that opening his own boutique law firm would allow him to provide the highest level of personal legal services, and thus he established The Duffey Law Firm.

Brian concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, real estate, litigation in the areas of probate and trust administration and matters involving closely held corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.
